Hey Tox, sorry it took me so long to reply but excellent job on "A Fat Goblin". I bought the game for a friend and I to play based on your video's and so far your playthroughs have been extremely helpful. Which brings me to my next question. When do ya think another encounter playthrough will happen? =P

Thanks Dan, glad you like it. I'm actually working on playthroughs of Lords of Water Deep and Mage Wars at the moment, but perhaps after that... if Mice and Mystics doesn't get in the way (which it won't at this pace as it's never gonna get here!) :)

Thanks so much for an awesome playthrough. It has really helped getting started with the game. I am considering buying some of the expansions or conversion packs, but I am not really sure what to go for first. The conversion kit looks really cool since it gives access to a plethora of new heroes to choose from, but as I understand it there are no figurines for neither heroes or monsters included in it. What would be your reccommendation for a first upgrade to the game?

First, thanks for the kind comments, I'm glad you liked the videos and I appreciate you watching and commenting.

Well, there technically is nothing out there as an upgrade to THIS version. You can use the older upgrades from Descent 1.0 with the conversion kit as well, but I'm personally excited about Lair of the Wyrm, which is the first expansion and coming out in November. -

Tox!!! you always forget to draw a card for the Overlord each time a hero is KO... It seems like you are more heroic than evil... ha ha ha!!! Nice work with the videos anyway, greetings from Spain!!!

Hi Javi, yeah, I tend to forget that one a LOT. Maybe I'm the benevolent overlord :) Thanks for watching, glad you like them, and hope all is well in Spain!

    Hi tox,

First good job on the views, very helpful and informative.

Ive just ordered this game and watched your videos to prep for our first game night featuring descent. I have 2 questions for you.

    1) in your " a fat goblin act 2 " walkthrough, I noticed you used the stats or the act1 monsters instead of act2 stat cards. In your review you mentioned act1 crds are or act1, and 2 for 2. Was there a special condition that you were tp use act1 stats, was it a mistke, or did I miss something?

    2) I dont want to imerse my friends into a campaign just in case they dont like the game that much. Are there any scenarios that are like a big one off dungeon crawl so they can get a feel for the game, or maybe a custom quest you would recommend from the quest vault?

    Thx for any help.

Thanks Roger. So there is a distinct difference in taxonomy in Descent, almost annoyingly so, but here goes... there is a big difference between Act I and Act II and Encounter I and Encounter II. Monster Cards and Monsters are labeled with Act I and Act II symbols. The Acts are the first 3 and second 3 quests used in a campaign mode. Encounter I and Encounter II are the split halves of a large Encounter, but you only use Act I or Act II monsters, depending on where you are in your Campaign. Page 18 of the rules "sort of" explains that :) As for custom quests, there are tons! Check out here:

Opening doors are considered actions... so like, your first gob shouldn't have been able to pick the prisoner up.

Splig could have won on 50:00. Just play Dash on him and he's gone.
