Critical Strikes - Thunderstone, Castellan and Guildhall Job Faire

Last week we provided a quick Critical Review of Alderac Entertainment Group's Trains; a game we think is sure to be a Crit at Gen Con and for the rest of the year!  This week, in our Critical Strikes, we have two more entries from AEG, Thunderstone the Starter Set and Guildhall Job Faire!

In addition, we take a look at a new game from Steve Jackson Games called Castellan, which is an area control game, involving cards, castle walls, and towers! Steve Jackson, most notably known for Munchkin and other loved games like Car Wars and Ogre, may just have something special on their hands with Castellan in this outing!

Whether you like set collecting, deck building or abstract area control there is a lot of theme, and lot of gameplay and a lot of choices for almost everyone inside of this week's Critical Strike!

My wife and I have about 20 games of Job Faire completed. It adds a lot to the original game, and allows us to take the nasty Assassin out of the game from time to time, which annoyed my wife to no end!

OMG bring back Car Wars I agree! So many awesome memories playing that game after school. Guess that's why I barely passed! :)

LOL, yes, Car Wars inhibited my other activities in life greatly. I very much miss that game. If you like it though, get ready for Road Kill ultimate Car Combat, it's a 3D Minis game in the vein of Car Wares coming to Kickstarter soon (I think Sept 9th) and it looks amazing!
